Attorney Viviana Ramirez has been working tirelessly for her client's rights for over twenty five years.

Born in the beautiful mountainous coffee growing region of Colombia, and raised in a working class home in New Jersey, she learned first hand not only the values of hard work and commitment, but also that every individual has the right to be treated fairly and equally.  She is a firm believer that everyone, regardless of their gender, race, religion or background, is not only entitled to sound representation, but also to a true understanding of their rights and the legal process, every step of the way. Viviana incorporates a holistic approach to her practice, she believes in helping her clients not just for the immediate but for the long term as well.

Since graduating from the University of Utah College of Law in 1998, she has represented clients in both State and Federal court, in a vast array of criminal and family law matters, and has been featured in both local and national print and television media.  She was a founding member of the Utah Federal Defender Office and had the privilege of being an intern clerk for the Honorable Glenn K. Iwasaki. 

 

While working for the Kane County States Attorney's Office she founded the Conviction & Integrity Unit and also served as the Chief of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.  A sought after speaker, Attorney Ramirez has taught numerous Continuing Education Courses on both the state and federal level.

Prior to law school she received her BA from the University of Utah where she majored in Spanish and minored in Sociology.  She has taught ESL (English as a Second Language) to elementary students in Taiwan, received numerous accolades for professional and volunteer achievements and was a former member of The City of Aurora Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board.

She lives in the western Chicago suburbs with her husband, three step sons and five rescue pups. When she's not working she enjoys traveling, competing in adventure races, scuba diving, yoga and is an avid enthusiast of soccer.
